The central government has launched Eshram portal for 40 crore unorganized sector workers in the country. On registering on this portal, employees get accident insurance cover of up to Rs 2 lakh. Under this, the government will also give e-labor cards to the workers. Let us know what the workers registered on this portal should do if there is any problem.
According to the latest data from the Labor Ministry, 90 million workers in the unorganized sector have registered on the eSHRAMportal. In situations like emergencies and national pandemics, this database can be used to provide necessary support to qualified unorganized personnel.
e-SHRAM Registration – Apply Online Steps. As per the official information of e-SHRAM, only farmers and landless farmers are eligible to register on eSHRAM portal. Workers registered on the eSHRAM portal should note that those who have registered themselves on the eSHRAM portal will be registered under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and the premium for the first year will be borne by the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
Be aware of the various benefits of registering on this e-labor portal. After registration, the unorganized workers will get an accident insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh under PMSBY. In future all social security benefits will be distributed to the unorganized workers through this portal. In situations like emergencies and national pandemics, this database can be used to provide necessary support to qualified unorganized personnel.
Now, for self-registration, the documents required include Aadhaar number, bank account details and mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Again, if one wants to register through CSC, the documents that will be required include Aadhaar number, bank account details. It is important to note that registration with CSC is free.
The government has also issued a toll free number so that workers do not have to worry about registering workers on the e-labor portal. If any worker finds difficulty in registering on the portal then he/she can call on 14434.

If you have not registered yet on this portal, can do by following some simple steps.
In case an applicant (he/she) does not have an Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/she can visit the nearest CSC and register through biometric authentication.
